Maryann Wallace is a graduate of West Chester University. Graduating in 2012, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Business and and has taken various classes in health, wellness and emotional support at Nemours Children’s Hospital of Delaware. She is also CPR certified.
Maryann is an avid musician, beginning private piano lessons at 5 yrs old. Her list of accomplishments are impressive: Drum Major of her high school marching band, Tri-M Music Honor Society President, and a PMEA District, Regional and All-state choir member. She also participated in chamber choir, women’s choir, jazz band, concert band and held the roles of Sharpay in High School Musical and Rusty in Footloose.
All throughout her collegiate years, Maryann participated in both chamber and women’s choir. She was chosen to be part of a select group of students to sing the National Anthem at the Phillies Ring Ceremony after they won the world series. She was chosen to perform original compositional works by student composers at Rutgers University. She was also selected to be a soloist during her first semester of women’s choir.
Maryann joins Breaking the Barrier School of Music to offer lessons in Voice, Piano and Brass. She is a strong believer and advocate of instilling the love and joy of music in children, and keeping music in our schools. Contact BTB today to schedule a lesson with Maryann Wallace!
