Bill Richter is a musician that joins us originally from Youngstown, Ohio. He holds his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Kent State University and his Master of Arts in Horn Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is a doctoral candidate in Horn Performance and Pedagogy from West Virginia University to be completed in May of 2024. 

As a teacher, Bill Richter has taught private lessons for a variety of instruments across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. In addition to private lessons, he has taught sectional classes at many high schools and middle schools. Some of these classes include teaching the air control classes, The Breathing Gym. Bill has also worked with Alexander Technique and its application to brass performance.

As a performer, Bill Richter is incredibly active in the Philadelphia area. He currently performs with the South Jersey Pops and the Philadelphia Wind Symphony. In the past, Bill has performed with groups such as the Black Diamond Philharmonic (Morgantown, WV) and the Youngstown Scoring Stage (Youngstown, OH), where he recorded soundtracks for various independent films and television commercials. Bill is an immense advocate of new music and breaking down genres of music. He has premiered over 10 works for the horn that were composed for him. In addition, he performs music of different genres on the horn including folk, RnB, jazz, and rock. As an advocate for new music, Bill also works as a composer. He has written music for musicians all across the country including leading experts on various instruments, summer music festivals, and various collegiate and professional ensembles.
