Joseph Callahan is a Temple University graduate with a B.A. in Music Education.

Joseph is currently a full time music teacher at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit where he works with a diverse population of students with special needs. Joseph has taught special needs students individually and in both small and large group settings. His instructional methods exemplify his passion for teaching music to the special needs population. He strives to cultivate a fun and inclusive environment tailored to each student’s unique learning style. 

Joseph was a member of Temple University’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee which helped him develop his culturally responsive teaching. These methods are designed to be relevant and relatable to students with varied cultural backgrounds.

As a former general music teacher with the Upper Darby School district, Joseph taught music to students grade 1st through 5th. During his tenure there, he conducted the school choir and was instrumental in the production of the school play.

Since 2018, he has provided musical instruction for the Ridley High School Marching Band. Joseph also has a background in musical composition, most notably scoring Ridley’s 2022 production “Under the Tent.”
